A hearty welcome to all the spam fighting filters and programs created to rescue us from the deluge of unwanted e-mail! There is practically a "solution" for everything. Watching how the traditional media covers the latest virus or scam would make one think we are all innocent victims and it is the "evil Internet" at work once again. News flash! Innocent? More like uninformed. Victim? In many cases add the word "willing." The media's point of view and how they choose to portray these occurrences always makes me chuckle.

If you want your online business to survive and thrive, you need to be having fun! At least several times each week, potential clients call me for business ideas or suggestions for "things to sell" online....
Forwarding of e-mails is one of the topics I get contacted about the most...
Back in the mid-90s when this whole Web thing started ramping up, if you slapped up a site you had built yourself and registered it with the Search Engines of the time, all of which were free, chances are you experienced some level of exposure and success. For very little effort and minimal expense....
One of the most misunderstood issues online has to do with copyright. Both with e-mail and Web site copyright issues. For some reason, as with many things online, there is this incorrect perception that anything goes. However, many are finding out the hard way that when it comes to protecting creative collateral, copyright is law. And, copyright laws can and are being enforced online...
Having worked with 100's of businesses across the country with the creation, growth, nurturing of their site, if you removed the "technology" aspects that makes all of their heads swim, the one issue that always seems to be missing in one form or another is the fact that having a Web site is having a business...
I can see you smirking on the other side of this screen based on the name of this article. You probably have the same look on your face that I very often see when I use that term with prospective clientele.
Regardless of what the classic Rolling Stones' song may say, time is NOT on your side if you are not a doer.
When you first get online, every site you go to is wondrous and filled with new experiences - flashing this, moving that. A virtual amusement park of sight and sound experiences. All that you see is neat and cool as you make mental notes about the most impressive flashing moving "thingamajigs" for when you get your very own Web site...

Each day I receive e-mail through all my various sites from other site owners offering to exchange links. Most approach me in the wrong manner and I can tell they have no idea about the proper way to run an effective linking program. See, in a true linking program, it isn't just about you - it should be about both sites involved in the process...
All too often I find site owners are confused (or in denial) about how to achieve the search engine rankings they desire on the SERPs (Search Engine Result Pages). So, I am pleased to offer you my version of "Organic Listings 101."
The online marketing arena is murky with quick tips and strategies to optimize your site for the best free search engine rankings. Without participating in "sponsor" advertising or PPC (Pay Per Click) programs, it is a fact that search engine optimization can enhance your "natural" or "organic" listings. But within reason and only when done within the rules....
All too often otherwise nice folks come off as terse or plain old rude when it comes to their e-mail habits. They don't intentionally set out to be viewed as rude, well I guess some do, but for the most part I prefer to believe the majority do not...
A big-time dilemma is brewing online. In an understandable attempt to bypass all that annoying spam, e-mails that onliners want to receive are getting lost in the shuffle. Newsletter subscription requests are not being completed and important e-mails are not getting to their intended parties.
Yeah, TOO ethical!? Lately, with some of the issues I've had to deal with in my day to day business activities it seems I am one of the rare few who is concerned about proper ethics and is naturally inclined to react with integrity.
